Here are details of the many different events we’ve got going on at harvest this year. We are delighted to be working with Transition Loughborough in the Radar shop in town creating the first Fruit Routes Exchange. Bring along a story, an idea, something you’ve made with fruit, an apple – all are valid currency! and swap it for something else . There will also be foods and teas to try and you can learn more about local food in Loughborough. Our harvest event day will be as varied as ever with artists Jo Daccombe creating workshop activity, members of LAGS sharing the story of the garden, a guided walk around the fruit route, a talk about cider and fruit wine making, apple pressing all day as well as the Bake Off judging. Please bring a bottle to fill with juice. This year’s Bake Off includes great prizes and we aim to collect all the recipes submitted to start pulling together our first Fruit Routes cookbook. Fruit pick ups from the venues listed below or contact Sherrii. Please submit entries for savoury or sweet categories and then come along to our harvest day to get them judged…and subsequently munched with tea by all of us!
